The following is a list of settlements in Eugène Andriveau-Goujon's 1880 map “Carte générale de l’Afrique, d’après les dernières découvertes.” The map was georeferenced and point data was added for settlements through GIS. Settlement data reflects only the mainland African continent, as the spatial transformations necessary for accuracy in the mainland led to some distortion of Madagascar, outlying areas, islands, etc.
